A beloved musician has tragically died. Jazz guitarist Jack Grassel passed away after getting in a head-on collision.

The musician suffered a medical episode leading to him crashing the car. The 77-year-old crossed over the centerline and struck another car. The 83-year-old woman in that vehicle also died. Following his death, his wife Jill took to Facebook to mourn his death.
"My shining star, light of my life, is extinguished," she wrote. "It is now proven that Jack was not conscious and suffered a fatal medical event leading to the horrific collision. He never felt any pain. I am thankful beyond words for that."

Apparently, the musician fell unconscious before crashing the car.
"Jack loved me with the deepest parts of his soul, and I loved him the same," she wrote. "While I know that I am not the only person who has lost a soulmate, it still feels surreal. As we try to navigate through our feelings, I want to share that the best way to honor Jack is by being kind and giving. Since his stroke (in) January of 2025, he radiated more tender love and appreciation to all he knew more than ever before. It's as if he knew he had to get it out in time. None of us are promised tomorrow, and I know some will read this and think it doesn't apply to them. None of us are immune to this reality."
Jill asked fans to remember the legacy that the musician left behind. She wants them to have an "understanding that music is something we make, not own."
"Please listen more carefully to others and strive to be part of creating harmony and joy," she added. "Hug more. Say I'm sorry more. Reach out to a loved one more. Help those in need more. Most of all, love as much as you are able, and say it as much as it can leave your lips. Sorry to be preachy. I feel this so fiercely right now."
