Sometimes people wonder if their misbehavior while not on the clock at their job can get them fired anyway. One man has reportedly discovered that it indeed can. Arthur Layne Lundeen has been shown to the door by his employer after an alleged disruptive and scary incident aboard an American Airlines flight, per the New York Post.

According to the outlet, Lundeen, 67, was acting wildly. Not only did he have to be duct-taped to prevent further mayhem, he also allegedly needed to be zip-tied. A photo shows his legs, hands, chest, and head secured with many strips of duct tape. Lundeen's hands are tightly secured as well. No one was taking any chances that he could free himself. The real estate firm where he worked has now parted ways with Arthur Layne Lundeen, per the Post.
Lundeen's Employer Apparently Said Goodbye to Him
His behavior on the plane was certainly concerning, to say the least. Per the outlet, "...[H[e was identified as the lunatic who hurled the N-word at a flight attendant and shouted anti-gay insults on American Airlines flight 618 Thursday night." In light of the report that it was deemed necessary to physically restrain Lundeen for the rest of the flight, that seems pretty serious.
His Ex Company Issued a Statement
Long Realty addressed the situation in detail on
Facebook on Sunday, September 6 at 11:06 am. They wrote at length about Lundeen and why he was fired. According to the message, his alleged actions while aboard the flight do not align with Long Realty's standards. Thus he was let go.The message stated, "Long Realty is aware of reports concerning criminal charges filed against a former affiliated real estate agent arising from an incident that allegedly occurred during a commercial flight. Upon learning of the incident, Long Realty promptly ended its affiliation with the individual. The individual is no longer associated with or authorized to represent Long Realty in any capacity."
"Our Focus Remains on Serving Our Clients"
It continued, "The conduct described in the reports is wholly inconsistent with the professionalism, integrity, compassion, and respect for others that Long Realty expects from those affiliated with the company. We expect those associated with our company to uphold those values, and we have no tolerance for conduct that so clearly falls short of those expectations. Our focus remains on serving our clients and community in accordance with our values. Our thoughts are with the passengers, crew members and others affected by this incident."
Lundeen Is Allegedly Facing Charges for His Conduct
Arthur Layne Lundeen is also allegedly in hot water with the law. According to the Post. the FBI said that he was arrested by Maryland Transportation Police. Additionally, Lundeen is looking at disorderly conduct and second-degree assault state charges. Federal charges may be coming, too, the FBI noted.
