However, the former Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat champion has taken things to a whole new level with his latest Instagram post. In the reel, Shaq is wearing open-toed sandals, displaying some glittery and well-polished toenails.
During his video, Shaq urged his followers to ensure more men are wearing open-toed sandals moving forward. In fact, he specifically called on the ladies watching to ensure their men went out and purchased a pair.
"Ladies, if your man ain't got some of these, you need to break up with him," he said at the start of the video. "I'm bringing 'em back!"
As the video continued, Shaq confirmed that his footwear was a throwback to the traditional tan leather-woven huarache sandals. Over course, most of his fans' attention was on his glittery toes, rather than the sandals he was likely attempting to promote.
"Bringing 'em back! Hey, the open-toe sandals!" Shaq joked to end the video.

Shaq's post was certainly enjoyed by those on social media. His comments section was a goldmine of comedy.
One comment begged the former NBA superstar to get his big toenail treated by a professional.
"Shaq.... The big toe nail... pls... get it removed and start over again and treat the nail beds to remove the fungus THEN PAINT THEM WITH SPARKLES! JESUS!" the user wrote.
Another user begged Shaq to throw his open-toed sandals in the trash, immediately.
"If you don't throw those damn shoes away NOW!!!" they wrote in the comments.

It's unclear what led Shaq to post the video. Chances are that he was simply being funny or looking to promote the sandals. Nevertheless, the upload had the internet in hysterics and will likely go down as one of the best posts of 2026.
