Hayden Panettiere's Mom Wants Star's Boyfriend Banned From Funeral

Funeral services are in place following the tragic passing of acting star Hayden Panettiere. According to a recent report, the Nashville star's mother, Lesley Vogel, wants to make sure that the attendee list is restrictive. She apparently wants to omit Hayden's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.

Panettiere's Mom Wants Boyfriend Banned From Funeral

One source close to the situation told Taste of Country that Lesley is "adamant" that Brian will not be welcome at Hayden's services.

"She wants this to be about Hayden — not Brian. Not their history and certainly not another circus surrounding her daughter," the source said to the outlet.

The source also added that Vogel views Panettiere's upcoming service as one of the last chances that she will have to protect her daughter from Hickerson.

"Her family couldn't control whom Hayden allowed into her life. But they can control who is invited to say goodbye. Her mother sees this as one final chance to protect her daughter," the source added. "Lesley wanted Brian out of Hayden's life for years. She absolutely does not want him standing beside the family when they bury her.

Vogel Has Longstanding Beef With Brian Hickerson

Panettiere was found unresponsive in her Greeneville, South Carolina home on Sunday afternoon (August 16) at 36 years old. An official cause of death has yet to be released. However, Greeneville police have said that they do not believe that foul play was involved in her death.

Following Panetteire's passing, Vogel told NBC News that Brian was a   "person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time."

"There is a lot of history in the past that Brian has enabled Hayden many times. And this is why her father and I had been concerned for a long time about him," Vogel told the outlet.

She also expressed that she feels that her daughter "lost her way" because of her success as a child actor.

"I think Hayden sadly lost her way, and I wish it were different. I wish she had stayed true to herself because she had many incredible attributes," she said.

Panettiere would have turned 37 on August 21.
