We haven't seen much from Tiger Woods since he was arrested on a DUI charge in March. However, the superstar golfer did make a rare appearance when he posted a pre-recorded video on Tuesday, August 25. In the video, Woods sent a heartfelt message to fellow golf pro Notah Begay during the Payne Stewart Award ceremony Tuesday night.
"Hey, Notah. It's been an unbelievable ride with you. You first came into my life when I was 11-years-old, playing in the junior world and you came to watch me play. Our friendship has started there and never ended,"
Woods continued by praising Begay's charitable work, and the countless Native American families he's helped throughout the years.
"To see what you've done off the golf course — I know you've won four times on the tour, playing in the President's Cup ... but to see what you've done off the course and for your local Native American communities, you've helped over 80,000 youths and their families, which is absolutely incredible. What an amazing job at the sports complex in San Felipe."
The video certainly came as a shock to Woods' fans, who haven't seen much of him since he crashed while driving in South Florida.
Fans React to Tiger Woods' Pre-Recorded Video
Almost as soon as Woods' video was posted to social media, fans began to share their reactions. The majority of the comments were based on Woods' appearance and/or how he carried himself on screen.
"Tiger looks Terrible," one user wrote on X. "Too much make up on to cover up those puffy eyes. Man that's sad. He looks high."
Another user even questioned whether Woods' video had been AI-generated.
"This is either AI or a terrible-looking Tiger Woods," the user wrote.
Interestingly, other users question why Woods wasn't in attendance for his friend's award.
"He couldn't have shown up??!" a fan questioned in the comments.
Nevertheless, there were also some fans advocating for giving Woods the time and space he needs to overcome whatever it is he's battling.
"How about everyone just understanding what we're all wrestling/dealing with and that Tiger is like all of us," the fan wrote. "Remember what we're wrestling with and have a little humility or a lot."
As you would expect, opinion on Woods' video was split. Fans are starting to question whether he's ok, and can get back to his best. Hopefully, whatever he's going through is short-lived.
