A 10-month-old baby has died after her grandmother allegedly left her in her car whilst she worked a shift. As reported by the New York Post, 61-year-old Dr. Stacey Fazenbaker had promised to drop her granddaughter off at daycare.
Scottie Gwyn Crowell was tragically found unresponsive by her grandmother after she had finished her shift. Fazenbaker was supposed to have dropped her off at the daycare around eight hours before she was found, per police.
Madisonville Police Major Jason McKnight explained that Crowell's father had realized something was amiss when he went to pick her up from daycare. He had been told she hadn't been dropped off that day - and quickly put the pieces together.
When Fazenbaker found out, the doctor "ran outside with some co-workers [to the car] to get the child. But it was far too late by then," McKnight explained.
"The grandmother had already got the child, and so the officers tried some lifesaving measures, but unfortunately it was too late for that."
As of August 21, no charges have been filed. In order to figure out exactly what happened, the doctor has been tested for drugs and alcohol. "As the picture becomes clearer on how this could have possibly happened, there is a possibility charges are sought before the grand jury convenes."

This Comes After Another Child Was Left in a Hot Car
This tragically isn't the first time in recent days that a child has been found left in a hot car. As we previously reported, a non-verbal 6-year-old was reportedly left in a hot daycare van. She later died.
Her uncle explained that Winter Jones had been found unresponsive in a daycare van at around 3:15pm on August 14 in Memphis, Tennessee. He said that her being non-verbal likely contributed to her being left in the car.
"So... she really couldn't let anybody know that she was still on the bus. She couldn't advocate for herself at all," he explained. "It hurts me to know that my little six year old niece is no longer here - physically, at least. But it really hurts me to see my brother in so much pain. It really does. This doesn't have to happen."
