Jack White Fires Back at This Country Star After He Dissed Him

In a recent social post, this singer, who's been known to start a feud or three, seems to believe that White is trying to destroy his career.

Is Charley Crockett ok?

You may recall that last month he  dropped Twin Temple from his Age of the Ram tour. The reason? As the rock duo put it, it was because of its "Satanic imagery."

"I thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain't," explained Crockett. "Not today, Satan."

In the weeks since, Jack White helped Twin Temple out by having the group open for him at his Los Angeles concert. The attention even led them to perform their song "Haunt Me" on The Daily Show several weeks ago.

Then the story faded into obscurity. But this week, out of nowhere, Crockett decided to go on social media to start a feud with White. We have the details below.

Charley Crockett Says Twin Temple Made Stuff Up

In a since-deleted Instagram post on Aug. 18 (still available on

Facebook), Crockett said Twin Temple was dropped because "we couldn't accommodate them physically."

"I never dropped that band from those 2 shows for "Satanic Imagery", they made it up and dragged me by a rope real good," he wrote.

But then Crockett goes on to say that the duo's "vibe just wasn't right for an all ages audience, and we paid em in full. They got together with their business folks and plotted for days before finally making their public statement, designed for effect."

Crockett goes on to say that he might have done things differently now. But then he goes on to take shots at the media, White, and "all the artists I know who had their hand out showering me with praise the last few years that used the situation to kick me in the dick."

"As for Jack White, he used it to sell tickets too and I lost a lot of respect for him," he wrote. "I wonder why he wasn't so outspoken back when he was in the white stripes 20 something years ago. They purposely avoided political issues. Maybe he was worried about losing audience back when it was all on the line and he needed all the help he could get. Funny, I've got everything to lose right this minute and I still shoot from the hip."

Jack White Responded

Again, everyone had forgotten about this weeks ago. Yet Crockett believes this is a political issue and alludes to some unsubstantiated belief that White is trying to destroy his career.

White then responded by posting a screenshot of a Rolling Stone article about Crockett's comments. It showed that he has never shied away from politics in his music. Crockett, apparently, has never heard the song "Icky Thump."

Then, in the caption, White fires back at the "Jamestown Ferry" singer.

"I never said nothing about this young buck before, but since he's trying to drag me into this here rodeo again, here's my official response to Cowboy Charley's accusations," he wrote. He then posted the lyrics of the 1984 novelty rap song "Rappin Duke" by Shawn Brown.

Yet Crockett hasn't stopped ranting. Yesterday, he continued his pissing match with White, calling him "Mr. Suzy Cream Puff" while listing his bona fides.

"Lemme guess, you got Che Guevara and Malcolm X on your shelf, maybe even Fred Hampton, but at the end of the day you get in the Lamborghini and put your kids in private school," he added in the lengthy post.

In another rant posted today, Crockett says, "Satan was no outlaw, that was Jesus. Ask the Romans. Matter fact, so was Martin Luther King jr. Ask the U.S. government.  Maybe even you, Butch & Sundance too."

As someone wrote in the comments, "Best promotion Twin Temple ever got."
