A rock star has died after collapsing during a concert. As reported by Suggest, Raja Azreen was performing with his longtime band Meditasi, which translates to Meditation.
The band was performing at the Teruntum Rock Festival in Kuantan, Pahang, in Malaysia, on July 18. The singer of the group, Bakaruddin Daud, explained to outlets that he saw the rock star collapse on his drum kit whilst playing the second song of the set.
Daud had insisted that Azreen looked and sounded perfectly normal during their rehearsals. However, he did note that the rock star had been recently diagnosed with diabetes.
According to Malay-language outlet Gempak, Daud had recalled the tragic moment he realised his friend and co-star had passed away. "I rushed over to the performer," he recalled," but I could sense that he was no longer with us."
"I called out to him and tapped him, but there was no response whatsoever. His body was already cold."
"We carried him to the back of the stage and within a few minutes the ambulance arrived. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), everything went smoothly."
The rock star had previously instructed his co-stars to dress in black for the show, and said "come what may, the show must go on."

The Rock Star Was a Part of a Cult Classic Band
Per the Malay Wikipedia, Meditasi were previously known as Metal Wizard. They got their start by performing at weddings and fairs in their home state of Panang.
But, their stardom came from winning first prize in the 1986 Pahang State Rock Championships. They were later signed by PMI, a large Malaysian record label.
The rock band were most well known for their hits "Angels", "A Punishment For Charm", and "May The Pain Of Love Endure", per Gempak.
The vocalist for another band, Masa Legacy, posted a touching tribute to the rock star, per HMetro. "I have received the sad news that the drummer of the band Meditasi, has passed away. Let us all pray for the departed soul, and send our condolences to his family."
