But what makes this story stand out is who the alleged "Peeping Tom" is: the 48-year-old athletic director for a New Jersey school district.
The Alleged "Peeping Tom" Worked With Minors
As reported by the New York Post, the incident took place around 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 6 in Cabin Run, Bucks County. Plumstead Township police said video footage allegedly shows Winfield Becker peering into the window of his young neighbor.
The athletic director for the Hopewell Valley Regional School District in New Jersey was arrested after the homeowner provided the footage to authorities.
Becker was charged with loitering, prowling at night, and a summary offense of harassment. The alleged "Peeping Tom" is scheduled to appear in court on Sep. 8.
Thomas Logan, the suspect's attorney, said, "We look forward to his appearance in court where he can vindicate his name against these baseless accusations."
What Does the School District Say?
The Hopewell Valley School District is located near Princeton, New Jersey. It serves over 3,500 students in Mercer County, from pre-K through 12th grade.
According to The Trentonian, parents received a letter regarding the alleged "Peeping Tom." Superintendent Rosetta Treece said that the incident took place outside of the district's borders. She also added that no students in the district were involved in the incident.
"In keeping with Board of Education policy, the employee will be on a leave of absence and will not be permitted on school property pending the outcome of the investigation," the letter read. "The employee is also entitled to a presumption of innocence pending final resolution of the charges."
The letter also stated it could not discuss the details of Becker's case. However, it added that "the Hopewell Valley Regional School District places the safety of its students and staff above all else and will fully cooperate with law enforcement."
Treece stated that the district is working to appoint an interim replacement for the duration of the investigation.
