Kid Rock didn't hold back when addressing a journalist who apparently plagiarized an article from years ago that listed the "biggest douchebags in country music." And country music star Zach Bryan caught a stray in the process.

Kid Rock Takes Slight at Zach Bryan
Rock took the opportunity to take a slight at Bryan. When giving his thoughts on the list itself, he noted that he believed that the list was "funny." He said that he was friends with pretty much every person on Fields' list. Bryan was the only exception.
"Zach Bryan is the exception; he actually seems pretty douchey to me. But then again, I don't know him," he said of Bryan in a transcript obtained by WhiskeyRiff.
Kid Rock's issues with Bryan appear to be related to their differing opinions about the Turning Point USA Halftime Show. A live concert that was aired to rival the Super Bowl Halftime Show back in February. Rock was one of the performers at the show that Bryan called "embarrassing"
It doesn't seem like Kid Rock has forgotten about those comments.
Kid Rock Calls Out Journalist's Plagiarism
However, the main point of Rock's rant was the apparent plagiarism.
The most recent version of the article was written by Alyssa Fields, the associate culture and music editor for the Dallas Observer. However, upon a thorough investigation of Fields' article, it appeared that she ripped off the piece from an article that was originally written by Mike Seely and posted by the Dallas Observer's sister site, Phoenix New Times in 2014.
Upon realizing that Fields was plagiarizing an article from more than a decade ago, Kid Rock called out the journalist.
"The 2014 article describes country music using this sequence: "Booze, chicks, jacked-up pickups, extreme redneck sports, spring break." Alyssa's 2026 version describes it this way: "Booze, women, jacked-up pickups, extreme redneck sports and spring break." She apparently changed "chicks" to "women," added an "and" and called it a day," the rock star said.
Kid Rock also added:
"Call it recycling. Call it imitation. I call it a rip-off with updated names. (FYI, All Summer Long is a masterpiece and not even close to this, but go ahead and show your ignorance in the comments, haters) Whatever label you prefer, it's a long damn way from creative. If you're going to call ten people douchebags, the least you can do is come up with your own title, introduction, and closing joke. (Or original production, lyrics and melody)."
