The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has revealed the cause of death of NBA star Brandon Clarke.

Clarke, 29, was found dead inside a home in the San Fernando Valley on Monday, May 11.
Officials have now determined that the Memphis Grizzlies forward died from "the effects of heroin and cocaine."

The Medical Examiner's Office officially certified Clarke's cause and manner of death on August 7.
Officials ruled his death an accident.
"According to reports, around 1700 hours on May 11, 2026, Mr. Clarke was found unresponsive in his bedroom," the statement reads. "Responding paramedics pronounced death at 1715 hours."
"On May 12, a deputy medical examiner conducted an examination of Mr. Clarke at the DME's Forensic Science Center. The cause and manner of death were certified August 7."
The Medical Examiner's Office added that Clarke's full report will become available at a later date.
Paramedics pronounced Clarke dead shortly after arriving at the scene. Reports at the time claimed authorities found narcotics inside the property, while investigators discovered no evidence of foul play.
The official findings now provide further clarity surrounding Clarke's sudden death at just 29 years old.
Brandon Clarke's Legal Troubles and NBA Career
Just over a month before his death, authorities arrested Clarke in Cross County on April 1 on several charges, including possession of a controlled substance.
He also faced charges of fleeing, speeding and trafficking a controlled substance.
Reports claimed authorities discovered approximately 1,200 pills inside a blue duffel bag.
Officials later released Clarke on a $25,000 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for May 15 in Forrest City.
Before reaching the NBA, Clarke played college basketball at San Jose State University from 2015 to 2017 before transferring to Gonzaga for the 2018-19 season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder selected the 6-foot-8 forward with the 21st overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft before trading him to Memphis.
"Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten," the Grizzlies previously said in a statement.
Clarke appeared in 309 regular-season NBA games, averaging 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
He also made 14 postseason appearances during his career.
