Despite managing his own health problems for over a decade, Randy Travis is finding time to help others work through theirs.

The "Forever and Ever, Amen" singer visited the City of Hope Cancer Center in Chicago to see patient Bunnia Greenwood. The NICU nurse and lifelong fan of Travis has been living with cancer for years, so the country music star came in to brighten her day.
Randy Travis Brought This Fan Some Joy
As reported by PEOPLE, Greenwood has been diagnosed with cancer multiple times. Despite all the setbacks, she has stuck to her positive mantra: "choose joy."
Greenwood's has always wanted to meet Travis. This inspired family and friends to work together to make the nurse's dream come true "when she needed it most."
In an Instagram clip posted by City of Hope last week, Greenwood is in bed while several loved ones tell her they were able to track down an autographed poster of Travis. As she takes a look at it, the singer's wife, Mary, rolls Randy into her room. Greenwood is overcome with joy and begins crying.
"Thank you so much," she tells Randy. "I have been a fan of yours for years."
"On hard days and good days alike, the music of country legend @therandytravis has kept her spirit lifted and her heart full," the hospital wrote in the video's caption. "Their time together was filled with warmth, connection and the kind of joy that words cannot fully capture."
Travis Has Inspired Many With His Health Journey
As fans of Randy know, the 67-year-old suffered a stroke in 2013. When the doctors told Mary to pull the plug, she refused, telling them that he was "still fighting."
The singer made a miraculous recovery. However, the stroke damaged the part of Randy's brain controlling speech and language. This condition, called aphasia, affects his ability to speak and sing. Still, Randy continues making music using artificial intelligence.
The singer still tours, as well. And while he doesn't sing, his backing band performs his decades of hits. Mary described the show in an interview last year.
"So it gives you a whole, like I said, biographical sketch of Randy Travis," she explained. "And then James Dupre is singing all of the songs, and it's just kind of a magical night, really."
