The Good Will Hunting actress shared in an Instagram post today, Aug. 6, that she got into a "really bad car accident." It included a video of herself in bed wearing a neck brace.
Minnie Driver Said She "Crawled Out" of Her Car
Driver said that the accident happened in France a "few days ago." She explained that she and a friend were driving down a country road when their car was T-boned.
The other car allegedly failed to stop at an intersection. Driver added that the crash wasn't their fault.
"We somehow walked out of... Well, we didn't walk out of it. We crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive," she shared.
The actress added that she was "in shock" and "crying all the time. Despite having a sprained neck, she said that she was "fine."
The Actress Added She Is "So Grateful To Be Alive"
Driver says the Kia EV2 SUV that she and her friend were driving in was why they were alive.
"The reason why I'm not dead is the car that we were driving," she said. "I've never been in a crash before, but the 360-degree airbags are what saved our lives."
The actress also had a van driver stop and help them before first responders arrived on the scene.
"I am so grateful to be alive. Thanks very much from me and my mate. And my family and the people who love me," she added.
"Shout out to the van driver who stopped and helped us before the ambulances arrived. Special mention to the car who slowed down, took in the scene, and drove off without stopping," Driver wrote in the caption.
"I guess this is the Dao of the world, the light and the dark. My brain keeps replaying the crash, which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping too feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you."
