The cause of death for Chicago Bulls legend Stacey King has finally been revealed.

In an exclusive report from the New York Post, the outlet revealed that King passed away as a result of "hypertensive cardiovascular disease," described as a condition caused by long-term high blood pressure. They also noted that King's "obesity" was a "contributing factor" in his untimely death.
Initial reports said that King had passed away at 59 after he had a "fall" at his home.
Fans continued to pay homage to King after his cause of death was revealed.
"King was a legend for Chicago. Won rings as a player and was the voice of the Bulls for years," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"I will miss the Staceisms on Bulls broadcasts, truly entertaining," a second user chimed in.
King Was a Bulls Legend On And Off The Court
King was a member of three out of the six championships that the Bulls have won in the franchise's history. Being a key member of Chicago's first three-peat squad from 1991-1993.
Following his playing career, King gained notoriety as a local broadcaster for the team. He would ultimately go on to become the voice of the Bulls.
Following his passing, Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf called King a "cherished member of the Bulls family and one of the truly unique personalities in our organization's history."
His family returned the love in a statement. They expressed gratitude to the Bulls organization for the love that the three-time champ received from the franchise. But they also noted that for as good a basketball player as he was, King was an even better person.
"Our father, Stacey King, passed away, and we want to take a moment to honor his life, his legacy, and the incredible love he received from the fans of Chicago and people around the world. To everyone who supported our father throughout his journey, thank you," the statement reads. "He loved you just as much as you loved and supported him. While many knew him as a champion, broadcaster, and larger-than-life personality, we were blessed to know him as an even greater father, friend, and man."
