Underwood Is Excited About Returning

In a press release via the outlet, Carrie Underwood said she is really pumped about the gig. "This year's show open welcomes Sunday Night Football into my ongoing rock star fever dream. I love this new version of the track and, once again, Tripp (Sunday Night Football show open creative director) and the incredible team behind the camera brought it to life in a whole new way that captures the spirit of this iconic song and the heart of rock 'n' roll.  It's one of my most favorite opens yet!"

The Open Has Been Refreshed

The creative powers-that-be at the network have updated the SNF open. Per the outlet, it will reportedly reflect different environments in a music superstar's career. Therefore, expect to see "the recording studio, an intimate setting in a small music venue, and a concert performance in a packed stadium."

Additionally, it will feature a conspicuous rock influence.

Tripp Dixon, the creative director of the open, explained in a press release, "This season, we've drawn inspiration from Carrie's deep, well-documented love of rock music - a perfect fit since our Sunday Night Football anthem was born from pure rock 'n' roll: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' 'I Hate Myself for Loving You.'"

Furthermore, Dixon mentioned, "We've worked to match these two rock frequencies of past and present as they come together in Carrie's high-energy performance. The greatest players and teams in the NFL will take it from there."

She Will Perform Live at Four Shows in August and September

The "Something in the Water" singer, 43, has some concerts lined up, per her website. She will be performing at the Grand Ole Opry on August 21 and 22. On the 29th, Carrie Underwood is scheduled to be in Lenox, Massachusetts. Then on September 5, she'll appear at the Velocity Music Festival 2026 in Dyersville, Iowa.
