The actress rose to fame as Jill Foster Abbott on the long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless, a role she played through 1987. As Entertainment Weekly reports, the 77-year-old was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery on July 9.
What Happened to "The Young and the Restless" Star?
The Los Angeles Police Department was contacted for a battery investigation on July 8, a day before Dickson's arrest. Whom the actress allegedly assaulted is unknown. She was released the same day of her arrest on her own recognizance.
This isn't Dickson's first run-in with the law. She spent more than three months at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center in Hawaii in 2007. The reason? According to the Honolulu Advertiser, the actress refused to obey a court order telling her to allow the sale of a Los Angeles apartment that was part of a divorce settlement with her ex, Jan Weinberg. She married the lawyer in 1997.
However, Dickson claimed that she was the victim. She claimed that the court didn't give her a fair hearing.
"This judge has left me penniless," Dickson said at the time. "He wants me to go on the street and be homeless. It's utterly and completely outrageous."

When Dickson was 17, she won the title of Miss California. She also performed with Bob Hope in 1971. Dickson has also appeared in several films and television shows throughout the years, including a cameo on Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver in 1976.
However, the actress is best known for her role as Jill Foster Abbott, the only remaining original character on The Young and the Restless. Dickson first played the role between 1973 and 1980. She then returned to the role in 1983. Stating that she was "planning to branch out," Dickson made her final appearance as Abbott in 1987, though other reports state she was fired from the soap.
