"According to Maricopa County jail records ... Rider was taken into custody Thursday night and booked Friday morning for failing to comply with a court order," TMZ reports.
Rider is expected to remain in custody until at least Tuesday, July 28. Rider's latest brush with the authorities comes just months after he was arrested twice in connection with a protective order his estranged wife Vanessa had put in place.
According to TMZ, Rider was last arrested in December for violating the protective order. He was then charged with interfering with judicial proceedings. Shockingly, Rider was arrested just days later. He'd reportedly missed a hearing over whether the protective order should remain.
"Rider previously denied Vanessa's allegations ... claiming she pursued the protective order because he was moving forward with their divorce," TMZ notes. "Vanessa told us the order was sought solely to protect herself and their child from further harm."
Currently, there are no further details regarding Rider's latest brush with the law. However, more information may come to light in the coming days or weeks.
Isaiah Rider Enjoyed a Nine-Year NBA Career
Rider entered the NBA in 1993. He was the fifth pick in the draft, having been selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves. As a rookie, Rider suited up for 79 games, starting 60 of them and averaging 16.6 points, 4 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Rider continued to impress throughout his second and third year in Minnesota, flirting with a 20-point-per-night average on solid shooting splits. However, in 1996, Rider moved to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he continued to be an effective scorer at the shooting guard position.
Throughout his three-season tenure with Portland, Rider averaged 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists across 197 regular-season games. It's also worth noting that those three seasons are the only time Rider tasted postseason basketball in his career.
Upon leaving Portland in 1999, Rider spent a season with the Atlanta Hawks. He then spent a season with the Los Angeles Lakers. His ninth and final season came with the Denver Nuggets.
