Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, has reportedly been arrested. According to TMZ, the four-time Pro Bowl selection was allegedly operating a vehicle while under the influence.

"According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, Romo was stopped while traveling on southbound I-43 on the high-rise bridge," Fox6 News reports. "FOX6 News obtained Romo's arrest detention report. It says Romo was taken into custody after performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests."
Romo was reportedly booked and released. He will now face a court on September 21st. TMZ has since noted that Romo smiled for his mugshot, and didn't look like someone who was concerned with the situation that he found himself in.
This is the first time Romo has been arrested. There are no details regarding how poorly he did on the sobriety test, nor what type of punishment he could be facing once he faces the court.
Romo has been retired from the NFL for 10 years.
Tony Romo Enjoyed a Stellar NFL Career
Romo entered the NFL in 2004 after going undrafted out of college. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent the entirety of his career. As a rookie, Romo suited up for six games, registering nothing of any impact. He then played in 16 games as a sophomore, again making minimal impact on the field due to limited playing time.
However, during his third season, Romo began to carve out a role for himself in Dallas. He stated 10 of the 16 games he played in, throwing for 2903 yards on 220 completed passes, 19 of which were for a touchdown.
As his career progressed, Romo proved himself to be one of the most reliable quaterbacks in the NFL. He was selected to the 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2014 Pro Bowl teams. He also finished third in MVP voting during 2014, which was his career year, along with making the All-Pro second team.
Romo ended his career in 2016, having played just once for the Cowboys that season. Since then, Romo has been a vital part of CBS' NFL coverage. He signed a $180 million 10-year extension with the network back in 2020.
