We know that rock musicians sometimes indulge in eyebrow-raising excesses. Whether it's alcohol, other substance abuse issues, or spending money like they were oil tycoons, these guys often live hard and play hard. Tommy Lee of Motley Crue is telling all about some of the wild antics that he and other band members did. It seems like there were few conventional boundaries they didn't cross in their "bad boy" heyday.

Lee Claims He and Nikki Sixx Shot up With Jack Daniel's
You read that correctly. Lee claims that he and fellow bandmate Nikki Sixx injected booze right into their arms. Appearing on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Lee, 63, told all about their bacchanalian exploits.
"[We] filled up the cap with Jack and then pulled a couple syringes, and were shooting Jack Daniel's. It was at that moment where I went, 'Okay, what is happening? We could just drink this, but we're shooting it. This is [expletive] wrong. And somebody's going to die." Lee explained, "You could taste it, like you taste heroin."

Previously, on The Zach Sang Show, Tommy Lee also dished freely about the incident. Sounds like they resorted to using Jack Daniel's because other recreational substances were not at hand.
"We were shooting drugs, heroin and cocaine, and we ran out. We were in a hotel room in like, Houston, Texas or something, and there's no way we're going to get anything. So we just unscrewed the cap on this fifth of Jack and filled up the cap with Jack and then started pulling it up through a syringe, and we're shooting Jack."
Motley Crue Went Into Rehab
With their escapades escalating, the guys went into rehab. Lee, Mick Mars, Vince Neil, and Nikki Sixx opted for treatment in 1989, per People. Right after, they dropped their LP, Dr. Feelgood. Lee told Zach Sang, "That's probably why the Dr. Feelgood record's so good, because we were out of rehab and sober and just focusing on that record."
However, Tommy Lee's journey to lasting sobriety was not yet done. Per the outlet, "Lee continued to struggle with his sobriety, entering rehab multiple times, including in 2019. In 2023, the rocker told Bill Maher that he was one year sober."
