A routine shift quickly escalated into survival of the fittest for a store clerk in India. While managing a local spirits shop in Todaraisingh, Sanjay Gurjar was suddenly met by a leopard, which stormed in through the front entry.

The sharp-clawed predator lunged into the store's stocking area and began mauling Gurjar, according to the clip obtained by The Sun.
The male leopard slashed the shopkeeper repeatedly and briefly latched onto his shoulders.
During the stunning attack, customers could be heard screaming as the shopkeeper was mauled.
Amazingly, Gurgar was able to muster the strength to throw the animal off of him before racing out of the store.
Gurgar also had the wherewithal to close the shutter behind him, trapping the animal inside.
"I somehow pushed the leopard away and ran towards the exit," the shop owner told the outlet.
"As I ran, I pulled the shutter down. Then I lost consciousness."
Gurjar suffered claw injuries to his hand, shoulder and nose.
Leopards Hunt Over 90 Different Species
Still, despite earning a few battle scars, it's safe to say that the shopkeeper held his ground admirably.
A sudden duel with a leopard would prove fatal for most people, and even other jungle creatures.
Adult male leopards weigh 85 to 198 pounds on average, but hunt prey up to twice their size. Leopards aren't picky eaters either, and have been observed to prey on over 90 species.
Although much lighter than lions, recent studies suggest that the bite force of some leopards may be around 300-310 pounds per square inch (PSI). This is strong enough to pierce skin, crush bones and paralyze smaller prey.
So, for the shopkeeper to limit the damage to a few gashes during their impromptu duel, I'd say mission accomplished.
Gurjar was not the only person attacked by the vicious leopard, however.
CCTV from outside the shop shows the leopard leaping at another man, Fateh Lal Koli, 40, before breaking into the booze shop.
The same leopard had attacked a third man that same morning, after wandering into town from nearby hills just before 9 AM, according to The Sun.
Officials set a near 2,000-foot perimeter around the shop. Then, wildlife specialists tracked the leopard down and tranquilized it around 2 PM, according to the report.
