Backyard barbecues are lots of fun during the warmer months. Informal get-togethers while munching on burgers and hot dogs bring people closer in an informal, casual setting. However, grills can pose dangers, too. Even the most experienced BBQers need to be very careful. Tragically, one mom in Australia lost her life as the result of a terrible, shocking accident involving a grill, per news.com.au.

Hill Was Trying To Provide Some Fun for Her Kids
Per the outlet, "Charlotte Rose-Ann Hill, 38, had been setting up a backyard BBQ at her Sydney home to roast marshmallows." Her young son, 11, and daughter, 7, must have quaked when they heard their mom suddenly scream. Charlotte Hill actually caught fire as her kids looked on in absolute horror for their helpless mother.
Bianca Hill, Charlotte's cousin, told the outlet, "Thankfully her children were not harmed because they were in the backyard at the time. They were so brave and so heroic in those moments. I'm actually extremely proud of the way that they handled the situation despite how traumatic it would have been for them."
Bianca added, "Her youngest daughter screamed. She screamed the loudest she has ever screamed in her life to alert their dad, who was getting ready to go to work." Her son attempted to put the fire out using his jacket.
Her Cousin Recalls Charlotte's Awful Pain
Suffering from burns to her face and her hands, Charlotte Hill was rushed to a hospital. Cousin Bianca Hill was accompanying her. Per the outlet, she remembered, "I actually jumped in the ambulance with her and she was in so much agony. Watching someone that you love suffer like that... it seriously broke me. This the last time I was with my cousin. I'm glad I was there, but I'm sad I was there,"
After surgery, Hill seemed to be getting better. Then things took an abrupt and deadly turn for the worse. "Medical complications" set in and she passed away.
Charlotte Will Be Truly Missed
Bianca Hill mournfully noted, "We'll never hear her laugh again. We're just so deeply heartbroken for her children." Bianca went on to say, "She broke hearts with her beautiful smile. Anywhere she went, people were just in awe of how absolutely stunning this girl is. Not just on the outside, but she was always just such a generous and very kind person with the biggest heart. She'd do anything to make her kids day. She would literally do anything at all just to make sure they have a happy childhood."
Bianca Hill set up a GoFundMe for Charlotte's family. It has raised $25,434 so far.
