Fortunately, the cast and crew can look back and laugh about the shocking incident now. Bohen and Jennifer Landon reunited for the Fanboy Expo Knoxville's Yellowstone Bunkhouse Reunion Panel on July 10.

That's when they discussed how a scene branding cattle became a close brush with death. Landon said that they were dealing with pretty big cows, with Bohen on the back end of one.

"That cow kind of got itself moving and he got kicked in the face," Landon said. "And if he wasn't such a tremendous athlete, I'm telling you, you wouldn't have a face." She praised the actor for being able to quickly jump out of the way of danger.

Still, he wasn't without injuries. "He was bleeding and everyone was laughing, even he was laughing," she said. "It was like, 'Oh, wow, that was a close call.'"

However, he said that he definitely was not laughing. After getting kicked by the cow, the Yellowstone star was shocked. He said, "I went down instantly. Just back, straight back." Meanwhile, Landon was apparently sobbing.

"I suddenly was like, 'I'm a girl. This is not fun anymore. Laughing at injury is not okay,'" she said.

It all sounds quite traumatic. But it's just one of the things that the Yellowstone crew had to juggle in the name of realism. Taylor Sheridan likes for his group of actors to get down and dirty and to very much perform the duties of the cowboys and hands they're playing.

Apparently, that realism also extends to his other shows as well. Landman star Ali Larter says that she was bitten by fire ants while filming barefoot in a wide open field. The insects bit her feet, leading to an emotional scene.

"And I'm like, 'I'm crying because I was getting bit by fire ants!' And I was scared they were gonna yell at me because they weren't gonna get the shot," she joked.
