Jim Parsons is best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. It's a role that won Parsons four Emmy Awards during his 12-season run on the show. However, during a recent interview on the All Out With Jon Dean podcast, Parsons revealed that he was often miserable during his time on the show.

"I look back now and realize that there were many ways, at some of the best moments of my life, I was miserable," Parsons said. "I was not happy, and I was stressed."
Parsons explained that he put himself under significant pressure during filming. He required himself to be disciplined and to put significant effort into portraying Sheldon, who was a socially awkward genius.
"I felt that there was so many plates I was supposed to be keeping in the air and that the success and the good things of life that were happening were only due to this overworking," he said. "Maybe to a degree that was true. I don't know. I can't say because that's how I was."
Interestingly, fans of the show would never have known he was unhappy. Sheldon was a star character and one who elicited chuckles in nearly every episode.
Jim Parsons Doesn't Expect To Reprise His Role as Sheldon Cooper
Since The Big Bang Theory ended, fans have enjoyed Young Sheldon. The spin-off is narrated by Parsons; however, he is seldom featured in an on-screen role. During his podcast appearance, he noted that he doesn't envision reprising the role of Sheldon, primarily due to the unhappiness it caused him.
"I wouldn't do that again and for any amount of money," Parsons declared. "It was stressful and miserable at times. I made myself miserable... It was really just obsessive behavior, basically. Yes, I was disciplined. Yes, I had a good work ethic, but a lot of it was because it was kind of OCD in nature."
Fans of The Big Bang Theory will undoubtedly be excited for the show's latest spin-off: Stuart Fails To Save The Universe. However, judging from Parsons' comments, we shouldn't expect to see Sheldon making an appearance on the show.
