L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has died following a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer, the legendary punk band has announced.

Finch was 59 years old.
Just days earlier, on Monday, July 13, L7 revealed that the longtime bassist had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease.

The band confirmed Finch's death in a heartfelt statement shared on social media.
"With a very heavy heart we announce that our beloved bandmate, friend, and fellow troublemaker Jennifer Finch has passed away today," the post read.
"She had a long courageous fight with brain cancer and was loved by many wonderful friends, musical peers and fans worldwide. We love you Jennifer."
L7 later shared another tribute honoring Finch's legacy and the impact she had on the band.
"We are shattered by the loss of our beloved bandmate, sister and friend Jennifer Finch, whose fierce spirit, humor and boundless creativity helped shape L7 and changed all of our lives forever," the group added.
"Jennifer was a true original who lived entirely on her own terms, and the impact she made on music, art and everyone lucky enough to know her cannot be measured."
The statement concluded with "We love her beyond words and will carry her with us always. Rest in power our dear friend."
L7's Final Tour Plans Left Uncertain
Finch's passing comes just two months after the pioneering all-female rock band announced its farewell run, The Last Hurrah Tour.
After revealing her cancer diagnosis, L7 said Finch would be unable to join the band. The tour is scheduled to begin on October 6.
The group also explained that Finch had encouraged her bandmates to move forward with the tour despite her illness.
It remains unclear whether those plans will change following her death.
Finch first joined L7 in 1987. Alongside Donita Sparks and Suzi Gardner, she helped define the band's sound across seven studio albums.
She departed the group in 1996 before reuniting with her bandmates in 2014 for L7's comeback.
Following her diagnosis, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help Finch and her family with medical expenses and care costs.
The fundraiser has since surpassed its original $350,000 goal, raising nearly $400,000.
