While the performances have celebrated the group's biggest hits, one moment from their London stop has reignited a decades-old feud with British rock icons Oasis.
During the first of two sold out shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, guitarist Daron Malakian led the crowd in an anti-Oasis chant before launching into one of the band's most recognizable songs.
System of a Down Revive Rock Band Feud During London Show
The moment unfolded on Monday, July 13, as Malakian addressed the audience ahead of "Needles," a song whose lyrics reference a tapeworm.
"Do you have an a--?," he said. "I said, do you have an a--? Everybody say 'a--,' 'a--,' 'a--'!
"We have a little song about a tapeworm. Just for fun today I'm going to name the tapeworm. Today I'm going to name the tapeworm 'Oasis'."
Malakian then led the crowd in a chant of "Pull Oasis out of your a--" as the opening notes of "Needles" began.
The 50-year-old later shared a video of the moment on Instagram, keeping the diss alive after the concert.
Decades-Old Oasis Rivalry Lives On
The tension between the two bands dates back to the 2000s, when Oasis guitarist and co-lead vocalist Noel Gallagher criticized System of a Down during an interview with Los Angeles radio station KROQ.
Gallagher called them the "sh**tiest band of all time."
"Do you ever look at the sky and think, I'm glad I'm alive? After I heard System of a Down, I thought, I'm actually alive to hear the sh**tiest band of all time, which is quite something when you think about it," he said.
"Of all the bands that have gone before and all the bands that'll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around."
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Noel and Liam Gallagher regularly made headlines for publicly criticizing fellow musicians, including Sum 41, Jack White, and Phil Collins.
Malakian appears to have never forgotten Noel Gallagher's comments.
In September 2025, he shared a photo outside Chicago's Wrigley Field featuring a billboard that read "F**k Oasis," writing "Wow!!! I kept ending up at the right place at the right time in Chicago!!!!!"
Malakian also referenced Oasis during the band's second London show on Wednesday, July 15.
With England facing Argentina in the World Cup semifinals at the same time, he kept the audience updated on the score.
After announcing that Argentina had scored, he joked, "If you guys lose, I blame Oasis," before adding, "Don't boo me, boo Oasis."
