Fans and bands alike have donated to her GoFundMe -- including massive contributions from Green Day and Pearl Jam members -- helping the fundraiser exceed its initial goal.
The fundraiser initially sought $350,000 to help cover the costs of in-home nursing care, medical equipment, physical and speech therapy, and home-care expenses. So far, rock music enthusiasts have donated over $380,000 to the L7 bassist's cause.
"A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to and shared Jennifer's campaign. Because of your support, we have officially reached our goal," the note read. "These funds will allow Jennifer to receive the care she needs in the comfort of her own home. Surrounded by the people who love her."
The note added: "Any additional funds raised will go toward preserving Jennifer's artistic legacy. And supporting her upcoming creative projects."
Rock Legends Rally Around Jennifer Finch
The GoFundMe rapidly exceeded its goal thanks to the help of Finch's music peers.
Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, Tool singer Maynard James Keenan, Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong's wife Adrienne Armstrong, and Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, among others, all pledged four-figure donations to the cause.
L7 shared a joint Instagram post on July 13 announcing Finch's diagnosis and launching the GoFundMe.
"Our beloved bandmate, sister, and friend Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer," the statement said. "Following multiple surgeries and serious complications. Jennifer now requires extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and professional in-home support."
Finch was forced to drop out of the band's final tour due to her hospitalization.
L7 said that the "Last Hurrah Tour was planned along with Jennifer when all four of us were in good health and spirits. Although she will not be able to join us for the upcoming US dates. Jennifer has asked us to continue with the tour as planned. We will honor her request while making her care and well-being our immediate priority."
The Last Hurrah Tour is set to begin in San Diego on October 6. Tickets are available on the official L7 website here.
