Houston DoorDash Driver Gets Hit by Car, Still Delivers Order

Miracle Herron was trying to catch up on bills, so she started a DoorDash shift. After the crash, she said it was a "miracle" she survived.

Anyone who orders groceries or take-out from DoorDash or other apps knows that annoying feeling when it just won't arrive. Whether the delays are from the restaurant, or from traffic, it's a little inconvenience that sours your day just that little bit.

But these drivers work hard every day to get you your items. And this is one clear example of that. As reported by People, a Houston DoorDash driver faced a horrifying incident - but still completed her order.

23-year-old Miracle Herron was going about her day, making DoorDash deliveries to catch up on bills. She had accepted a Subway order and had just reached the area to deliver her food.

Security footage showed her exiting her car with a bag, then noticing something. What was going on was an active police chase, with a fleeing car.

In order to protect herself, she pushed her body against her car. She recalled hearing the chase, but not thinking much of it. "I backed up towards my car to give them room to get, you know, by, and by the time I realized 'okay this car is finna hit me,' it was literally right there," she recalled.

And the footage is stomach-turning. It shows the car speeding through and hitting Herron as she rolled onto the hood of the car. The suspect got out of his car, and was being followed by police.

She Finished Her DoorDash Order

But her determination saw her through, as she casually picked up the Subway bag and walked to the house.

The local resident with the security cameras, Lily Portillo, ended up watching the incident back. "It's amazing how the girl just delivered the food. I asked her if she was okay, and she said she was okay."

Herron herself said, "my adrenaline was pumping, so it was kind of hard to feel anything at the time, but then I started feeling a little something."

Upon her visit to hospital, doctors revealed she would have lasting damage because of the crash.

The driver was later identified as 34-year-old Torrance Whitaker. He was fleeing the police over a burglary warrant. He was later charged with aggravated assault in connection with the crash.

We're glad she's okay. Our thoughts and prayers are with her as she recovers from this shocking crash.
