Brantley Gilbert might be a country music star, but it turns out he's just like the rest of us. It's incredibly common for people to dislike the sound of their own voice when listening back to themselves on recordings or videos. We often sound different from how we imagine ourselves.

So, when Gilbert confessed that he doesn't like listening to himself on the radio, well, that was something millions can relate to. His comments came during a recent appearance on "Taste Of Country Nights With Evan Paul."
"Bro, I kinda have a rule, I don't listen to myself on the radio unless it's the first time," Gilbert said. "So the first time I hear the song on the radio I listen to it all the way through...And then if it happens again it's just, bro, those dudes are weird. The guys who sit around and listen to themselves habitually... it's strange, I don't like it."
Gilbert has had plenty of time to hear his own voice on the radio. With studio albums dating back to 2010, he's had more than his fair share of airtime. Still, it's hard to envision him switching stations every time one of his songs comes on.
Brantley Gilbert Has a New Album Dropping This Month
We're probably going to hear a lot more from Brantley Gilbert in the coming weeks. The country star is preparing for the release of his latest album, "Sins Of The Father." The record is set to release on July 24, and undoubtedly has swaths of fans waiting for their first listen.
Gilbert has already dropped multiple tracks from the upcoming album. Both "Good Ol' Boys" and the title track "Sins Of The Father" were released on Father's Day. They follow the lead track "Good Damn," which has been making an impression on the charts. "F----d Me Up" has also been released in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, fans will want to hear the album in its entirety. There's nothing like listening to an album in sequence and taking the journey the musician wanted you to be on. Until then, we've got plenty of other hits from Gilbert to keep us going.
