Are aliens real? James Franco seems to think so. The embattled actor has ended his social media hiatus in recent weeks and has been posting a string of rather strange videos. However, Franco took his weirdness levels to new heights on Monday, July 13, when he posted what he claimed to be footage of real aliens.

"Hey, the day is here. 713. That's July 13th... I promised you that I was going to reveal something. Because I found something," Franco said to begin the video. It was thrust upon me; I didn't ask for this. Now, I've been through a lot. I went on social media, and I started talking about it - I didn't want to do that. I didn't choose this. It was thrust upon me. I saw something, and I thought, you know what? I can't keep this quiet."
In what appeared to be a frenzied state, Franco continued.
"People have said I'm crazy... I need to get this out for that very reason that people are trying to stop me. For that very reason, I fought to get the account back. And I felt like I owed it to you, to the people that are following me and are trusting that I, in fact, have material behind what I'm saying, right? I'm putting my money where my mouth is. Okay, enough. Here we go. 713. You wanted it. Here it is. I delivered."
Franco then loads up a black-and-white video, which appears in the bottom portion of the screen.
The Footage Shows an Alien in Multiple Settings
When watching the footage, the first thing that strikes you is how clear it is. At first, you can see an alien, which fits the common description of "the greys," standing in a wooded area. As the footage continues, the alien is then seen looking through a house window and finally using a door at the rear of a house.
In truth, the footage seemed highly staged and rather comical. It did not give the impression that this was filmed by chance encounter.
Perhaps Franco is using his social media account to sell an upcoming movie, and we're waiting for the ploy to become common knowledge. Or, maybe he's been hoodwinked by the footage and truly believes it's real.
Either way, Franco has the internet's opinion split.
