Last year, Moroney was linked to Riley Green after rumors surfaced that the pair had vacationed together.
A few years earlier, she was also the subject of widespread speculation surrounding Morgan Wallen.
Now, social media users have turned their attention to her friendship with Chesney.
Megan Moroney Addresses Kenny Chesney Dating Rumors
Moroney opened for Chesney, 58, on his Sun Goes Down Tour in 2024.
The pair regularly performed duets together throughout the tour, highlighting their close friendship.
They later released the collaboration "You Had To Be There."
Moroney has often spoken about the impact Chesney has had on her career, describing him as one of her closest friends and biggest mentors in country music.
"Some days, I'll just wake up and be like, 'Oh. Kenny Chesney is one of my best friends. Cool,'" she previously said.
Despite the pair's longstanding friendship, some fans have speculated that their relationship could be more than platonic, despite their 30-year age gap.
Singer Shuts Down Online Speculation
During a recent interview with B-Dub Radio, Moroney addressed the rumors directly.
"Probably that me and Kenny Chesney are dating. That's crazy. That's a good one," she abruptly said.
The conversation quickly moved on, with Moroney making it clear that the two are not in a relationship.
Chesney was briefly married to actress Renée Zellweger in 2005 but has not remarried.
Elsewhere, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will open a new exhibition, Kenny Chesney: Living in Fast Forward, later this month.
The exhibit opens on July 23, 2026, and will run through June 2027, exploring Chesney's career and lasting impact on country music.
"Kenny Chesney's creative vision and intense drive to continue raising the bar has helped him reach staggering commercial and artistic highs," said Kyle Young, chief executive officer of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
"He has broken almost as many records as he has made, and his work is far from done. Through his distinctive sound and dynamic live show, he continues to expand country music's audience, its perception and its sound."
The exhibition will feature rare instruments, memorabilia, handwritten lyrics, awards, photographs, and other artifacts from throughout Chesney's career.
