Following the announcement, statements were released by Yungblud, his management team, and the festival organizers explaining the decision.

Yungblud Steps Back From Festival Performance

In his statement, Yungblud suggested he is taking time away to focus on his health and well-being.

"To all my family in Canada I apologize for not being there with you all this weekend — I'm currently in a place where I'm working on myself and taking time off at home in the U.K," the statement reads.

"I'm taking this extremely seriously and facing head on what's going on for the good of the long term. I will never take any of this for granted and I will see you all soon. I love you all."

His management confirmed they had made the decision to withdraw the artist from the lineup.

The team apologized for the disappointment caused, adding that "these are not decisions we take lightly."

They also reassured fans that all other scheduled performances currently remain unaffected and are expected to go ahead as planned.

Festival Sends Message of Support

Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, has long been an outspoken advocate for mental health awareness and other social causes.

"Our thoughts are with Dom (Yungblud)," the festival said. "We are sending him all our love and support and wish him nothing but the very best during this time. We want him to know and feel the true love he has here in Canada."

Organizers added that affected ticket holders would be offered several options, including full refunds.

The Cowboys Music Festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with an 11-day lineup spanning multiple genres.

The 2026 event opens with performances from Tyler Wetmore and Dustin Lynch, while Sean Paul, Steve Aoki, Flo Rida, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Jason Derulo are among the acts appearing during the first week.

The Chainsmokers, Macklemore, Ella Langley, Jon Pardi, and Nelly are also scheduled to perform.

Yungblud is currently expected to resume his 2026 Idols World Tour on July 28 at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis.
