43-Year-Old Actor Dies After Cancer Battle

Slaine Kelly, who achieved renown for her role in The Tudors, died on Saturday, July 4. In fact, her death reportedly came after a brave battle with cancer. She was 43 years old. Kelly passed away just five days shy of her 44th birthday. From the very warm tone of the tributes written about her, Indeed, Slaine Kelly was obviously a special person. She will clearly be dearly missed and long remembered by those in her personal and professional circles.

Per an announcement on RIP.ie, "The death has occurred of Slaine Kelly, Dublin. Slaine Kelly, Allen Terrace, Dublin. Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family...Slaine will be deeply missed by her parents, son, brother, sister-in-law, niece, her many cousins, extended family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. An actress, film producer, Slaine will be fondly remembered for her work, her spirit and for helping to found St. Anne's City Farm. May Slaine rest in peace...."

One of Kelly's Friends Paid an Emotional Tribute to Her

Paddy C. Courtney wrote movingly about Kelly's passing on Instagram. He obviously cherished her friendship and loathed losing her so very young. He wrote, "This is just s--t. Slaine Kelly will forever be remembered as an amazing woman, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, & friend to so many humans & animals alike."

"Her Life Was Stolen by Cancer"

He mentioned, "Her life was stolen by cancer, but her giddy spirit of curiosity & divilment will live on in all those who knew her. I was lucky enough to circle her orbit in many roles as pal, co-star and confidant. Thank you for the laughs. Rest well gorgeous soul." Furthermore, Courtney ended the fond message with a red heart emoji.

Additionally, a moody black and white pic of Slaine Kelly accompanies the affectionate tribute. On it are the words, "Slaine Kelly RIP." Another red heart emoji is on the photo as well.

She Had a Varied Career in Entertainment

Per imdb.com, Kelly was an accomplished actress, writer, and producer. In fact, she evidently got her start in a Barry's Tea television commercial. Meanwhile, she appeared in one episode of the TV series The Tudors as Jane Howard. Among her other credits were Sodium Party, Comedown, The O'Briens, and Rise of the Footsoldier: Part II.
