The news first surfaced late last week that Jon and Summer were splitting. The two were married for five years prior to their breakup.
"I know many of you have seen the news about Jon and me," Summer wrote. "I wanted to acknowledge it beyond the joint statement we put out. This has been a very difficult and deeply personal time for our family."
She continued, "While so much of our life is shared online, there are parts of that I'll always choose to keep private, especially something as difficult as this."
That being said, Summer said that she's "so grateful for the kindness, prayers, and support so many of you have already shown us."

"It truly means more than you know," she also added.
The couple shares two kids, Presley Fawn and Sienna Grace. Previously, Jon and Summer released a joint statement that they were getting a divorce.
"After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage," they wrote in a joint Instagram post. "Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents."
They added, "Thank you so much for your understanding, support, and respect as we navigate these changes as a family."
Apparently, Summer Pardi filed for divorce back in May. On May 12, she listed the reason for the separation as irreconcilable differences. She is also seeking spousal support and primary custody of their children.
The news comes as Summer's father battles cancer, and Jon announced that he would be taking "some time away from social media to focus on myself and my family."
"Thanks to you all for the love and support," he wrote at the time. "My team will handle posting for the time being. I'll see you at the shows."
The two met in May 2017 after a blind date. The couple would marry in 2020.
