Grab your coat of many colors and mark your calendars because Dolly Parton is headed to Broadway. Well, sort of. Soon, a biomusical based on the life of the iconic singer is being produced on Broadway's grand stage.

DOLLY: A True Original Musical will open on Broadway this winter following a world premiere run in Nashville last year, producers have announced.
Performances will begin December 7 at the St. James Theatre. DOLLY will mark Parton's 81st birthday by holding its Broadway opening the same night, January 19, 2027.
Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher will direct the musical. The Broadway production will shed light on Parton's journey from a small town girl to a legendary musician.
"My whole life has been a musical. A grand ole opera really and I can't wait to present it to you on Broadway," Parton said in a statement. "I hope you enjoy watching as much as I've enjoyed livin' it."
DOLLY: A True Original Musical Debuts This Winter
All casting—by Jim Carnahan and Carrie Gardner—is to be announced. The musical's world premiere in Nashville last year split the role into three, each portraying a different era of the 11-time Grammy winner's life.
"During our world premiere in Nashville, I was overwhelmed by the deep connection audiences have with Dolly. You mention her name and people light up and share a time that she has inspired them and brought them joy," says Sher. "But despite all of that genuine love, Dolly has never really shared her story before. She's offered glimpses and peeks.
"But this musical allows her to reveal the unfiltered story in her own words. As we prepare to come to Broadway, we're thrilled to show that rhinestones were never her whole story."
Parton's iconic hits, including "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," "9 to 5" and "I Will Always Love You," will be included in the score. Plus, the music icon has written new music specifically for the Broadway show.
Tickets will go on sale for eligible Capital One cardholders beginning July 8 at 10 AM ET at DollyMusical.com. General sales will follow July 10 at 10 AM ET.
