Country Star Reveals He's Not Friends with Fellow Singers in Industry

Kane Brown hasn't got many friends, well, not in the country music industry, anyway. However, that's something he would like to change.

Kane Brown hasn't got many friends, well, not in the country music industry, anyway. However, that fact is something Brown has admitted that he would like to change.

"I feel like I have more athlete friends than I do musician friends," Brown said during an appearance on 'The Pivot' podcast. "I feel alone in the music world."

Nevertheless, Brown has become accustomed to going things alone. During the podcast episode, he admitted that he's always been someone who has been a 'loner,' and as such, has become used to feeling like he's on the outside looking in.

"I've always been a loner, so I'm used to it," Brown said.

Despite not having any close friends in music, Brown does have some acquaintances, which is clearly a good starting point. As the interview continued, he admitted that some members of the country industy do shoot him the occasional text message.

"Morgan [Wallen] probably texts me the most. Shaboozey, Chris Young. If I hit [Jason] Aldean up, Aldean's been my guy," Brown said.

The problem for Brown, is that those acquaintances are yet to develop into a genuine friendship.

"There are other artists I could text, but there's a difference between texting somebody and being boys with somebody," he explained. "Because they're the only people I can really relate to, you know what I'm saying? When you don't have somebody you can talk to about that, and have a [brotherhood] over it, I don't know if I could really say that we're friends."

Kane Brown Admits To Being Socially Awkward

"I'm socially awkward," Brown admitted on the podcast episode. "My wife says I'm intimidating. She's like...'Maybe you need to reach out to them.' And I'm like, I am not that guy. I don't know. I'm sensitive."

Shortly after, Brown used the podcast to shoot his shot at potential friends, noting that he's looking for someone in the industry that he can spend time with, hanging out and having a few beers.

"For me, I want a friend in the industry that we can just chill. Come over, hit the golf sim, have a few beers, talk crap," Brown said.

Unfortunately, we may need to wait for Brown's next podcast appearance before we know whether he's made any inroads in the friendship department. Hopefully, he can continue thawing the ice with some of his acquaintances. After all, feeling like you're on the outside can be one of the most lonely places to be.
