Rick Ross is ready to make a career change. Well, not exactly. The famed rapper has reportedly been stating his case to purchase a piece of the Miami Dolphins. During a recent conversation with TMZ Sports, Ross explained why he would be a strong addition to the Dolphins' ownership group.

"Oh, my God," Ross said. "What wouldn't I bring to the table? But most importantly, I feel my role, if I had the opportunity to play a very small role with what the... Miami Dolphins do— the organization and the team— my role would be more of just keeping the community involved with the organization."

Ross then continued by explaining how his influence in the community could ensure that the younger generation put their efforts into sports and fandom for the Miami-based franchise.

"You know, me growing up, growing up just a few blocks away, there was nothing like the young kids, the young football players, the this, the that," Ross continued. "...I don't feel like it's old to us, but let's spark that fire. And those youngsters and make sure they understand, you know, if you love the sport, you're also a fan, you're a part of the family. That's something I would love to see come into play."

Rick Ross Dispels Notion That Travelling Fans Can't Watch the Dolphins

As the conversation continued, Ross stressed that heading to an away game in Miami is safe for opposing fans.

"The Dolphins, you know, we despise the Jets," Ross explained. "We despise you. But we're not going to beat you up. You have nothing to worry about. If your dad, your mom come to the Dolphins' stadium, they're going to get home safe. You know what I'm saying? So I think it's just the character of Miami."

Whether Ross would be willing to purchase a small slice of the Dolphins franchise is certainly open for debate. A spot within the ownership group wouldn't come cheap. Furthermore, there's no telling whether the Dolphins have any equity currently for sale.

Nevertheless, Ross is a Miami legend. Having him involved in the local sports scene could only be a good thing. Or at least, that how it seems from the outside looking in.
