New details have emerged about the tragic murder of Calais Campbell's mother, Nateal Campbell. According to The New York Post, the audio from a "frantic 911 call" has now been obtained. During the call, Campbell's siblings can be heard requesting a welfare check on their mother.

"The caller, only identified as "Mr. Campbell," called for police to be sent to the Buckhead townhome June 30 after neighbors spotted 41-year-old Ciarre Campbell driving a car owned by his 71-year-old mother, Nateal Campbell, according to audio shared by the Atlanta Police," The New York Post reports.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by WSB-TV, Nateal's son, Ciarre Campbell, was accused of cutting her neck.
"An official cause of death has not been released," the warrant said. "But warrants obtained by Channel 2 Action News accused Ciarre Campbell of cutting his mother's neck."
Contents of the 911 call have now been released via The New York Post.
"It was kind of a wellness check. My brother, he's mentally ill. He's been diagnosed with schizophrenia and some other things. He stays with my mother, And this morning we're trying to get in" the caller said at the start of the audio. "This morning he drove her car, which is very unusual. She never let ... he doesn't drive at all, but the neighbor caught it on camera that he drove off in her car and we can't get in her house."
Calais Campbell and Family Have Issued a Statement
When speaking to the ESPN/NFL network, Calais Campbell and his family provided a statement on the trageic passing of Nateal.
"We are devastated to share that the Campbell Family has lost its matriarch, Mrs. Nateal Campbell," the statement said. "While the details of her passing are still being investigated, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with our father, her beloved Chuck, and in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We ask for privacy at this time so that we may honor her and share in our overwhelming grief privately and as a family."
Currently, there is no further information regarding the investigation into Nateal's death. More information will undoubtedly come out in the coming weeks and months.
