Following the incident, Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. He reportedly remains in the medical facility as he continues to receive treatment.

"We're told doctors have put him on an IV, hooked him up to a heart monitor and given him antibiotics to treat his pneumonia," TMZ reports. "Weinstein's now feeling better, we're told, but he's not out of the woods just yet."

This isn't the first time Weinstein has found himself at Bellevue Hospital in recent years. He was taken to the same facility in 2024, suffering from a reported "lack of adequate medical care and enduring deplorable and inhumane conditions on Rikers Island," per Metro UK.

Weinstein has been entangled with legal issues for years. He was at the center of the Me Too movement, highlighting sexual assault and violence within the movie industry around the globe. Weinstein was originally found guilty and sentenced to 23 years in jail. However, that sentence was overruled by a court of appeal.

He will now go before the courts again in September, as his case continues to drag on.

Harvey Weinstein Was Previously Diagnosed With Cancer

According to sources who spoke to ABC News in October 2024, Harvey Weinstein was diagnosed with " a form of bone marrow cancer."

"Weinstein has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, sources said, adding that the former Hollywood producer is receiving treatment while jailed," ABC News reported.

Despite the revelation, Weinstein's healthcare rep refused to comment on the situation. Craig Rothfeld declined the opportunity to comment, noting that his decision was "Out of respect for Mr. Weinstein's privacy."

There are currently no further updates on Weinstein's health. Nor are there updates as to whether he has beaten the cancer diagnosis or is still battling it. However, it's worth noting that he's also dealing with "diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid on his heart and lungs, and various other conditions," per ABC News.

Once recovered, Weinstein will likely return to Rikers Island as he awaits sentencing later this year.
