Anyone who's ever seen a Batman film knows exactly the sort of person he is slated to be. A fighter for good, someone who's relentless yet just.
Either someone's been doing a bit of reading, or it's a crazy coincidence. Because a Mexican Batman in the state of Jalisco has appeared to come out of the woodwork... and he's tying alleged thieves to poles.
As reported by Dexerto, the wild rumor came about after photos were posted online of men bound to poles with tape. Some of them were even photographed right next to the bikes they were alleged to have stolen.
Of course, people tend to get very divided over vigilante justice, right? In something that muddles the case up even more, Jalisco police are treated the people tied up by the "Batman of Lagos de Moreno" as victims - they explained, "en este momento son víctimas". That translates to "They are [being treated as] victims at this time."
The origin apparently seems to be from June 13. A man was found tied to a post, obviously beaten, alongside a cardboard sign branding him a "ratero", meaning thief.

The Batman Might Have His Own Robin... and Batmobile
If this case couldn't get any stranger...
In a follow up report, Dexerto confirmed that authorities were looking into this "Batman" possibly being not just one person, but a whole syndicate of people.
That means that Gotham, or, Jalisco, might have its own rag-tag crime-fighting team. The Security Secretary for the Mexican state, Juan Pablo Hernández, has confirmed officials might have some more information.
He said they had spotted "at least two vehicles" in connection with the attacks. Witness accounts say that the people could be residents, but because they had their faces covered, it's hard to know for sure.
In any case, to try and capture them, there have been more patrols around the area. But they still don't know who he, or she, or they, are.
But, one thing we do know is there's been at least five attacks in June. Here's hoping that no one else needs to get hurt, and bikes stop getting stolen!
