According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Beasley, who has not played in the NBA since 2025, allegedly participated in "point shaving and prop bets."

Charania also reported that federal authorities are coordinating a voluntary surrender by Beasley later this week.

Former NBA Players Indicted in Federal Gambling Investigation

The NBA first opened an investigation into Beasley after a sportsbook detected unusual betting activity. This involved his player statistics in January 2024.

His attorney, Steve Haney, said the 29-year-old had fully cooperated with investigators. Hanley added that Beasley was no longer considered a target in the federal gambling investigation 10 months ago.

Prosecutors allege Davis, who has not played in the NBA since 2022, worked with Beasley to manipulate Beasley's performances on four occasions during the 2023-24 season while he played for the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to prosecutors, the scheme was designed to help Beasley eliminate millions of dollars in gambling debt. While also satisfying a loan Davis had previously given him.

Both Beasley and Davis have been indicted on charges including sports bribery, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, honest services wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Prosecutors Allege Davis Served as "Gatekeeper"

Prosecutors allege Davis acted as Beasley's "gatekeeper" throughout the betting scheme.

"Bribery and insider betting schemes like this one involving former NBA players and a current NBA player agent who exploited inside NBA information for profit erode the integrity of American sports and victimize the sports-watching public," U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr. said.

The indictment also names four additional defendants: William Brown, Robert Gorodetsky, Ernesto Plascencia, and Paolo Zamorano.

Federal prosecutors allege that all six defendants participated in the scheme and have charged them with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. As well as bribery in sporting contests, honest-services wire fraud conspiracy, and money-laundering conspiracy.

Authorities arrested several of the defendants on Monday at locations across the United States. Each is expected to be arraigned in New York.

The latest indictments come after former NBA player Damon Jones, 49, became the first defendant to plead guilty in April.

The wide-ranging gambling investigation has resulted in more than 30 arrests. Including alleged organized crime figures and others connected to basketball.

Further developments are expected as the case moves through the courts.
