Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, are said to have ended their long-running relationship amicably.

The pair were last seen publicly together in September 2025, when they attended the US Open.

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid Reportedly Split

Cox and McDaid became engaged nine months into their relationship before initially separating in late 2015.

However, the couple reconciled the following year but did not get engaged again.

They first began dating in late 2013 after meeting at a star-studded house party hosted by Cox. The pair shared several mutual friends, including Ed Sheeran.

In April 2024, Cox revealed that she and McDaid had once broken up during a couples therapy session.

"Three years in, we broke up, and it was really intense. We broke up in therapy. I didn't know it was coming, whether I should have or not," she said during an episode of the Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver podcast.

"He just broke up within the first minute. And I was like, what? We were engaged, and I was so shocked. I was in so much pain."

Split Said to Be Amicable

Cox said McDaid had been in "pain in the relationship," which contributed to one of their previous breakups.

"There was that much that needed to be dealt with that he had to protect himself around his heart," she added.

According to the Daily Mail, the latest split is "entirely amicable," with the couple eventually realizing they were living "different lives."

The pair reportedly split their time between the United States and the United Kingdom, with Cox based in Los Angeles and McDaid spending much of his time in London.

"Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship, and they remain extremely amicable," a friend reportedly said. "They are great friends and care about each other very much."

Following the split, McDaid is understood to be in the "early stages of a new relationship."

Cox shares a daughter with her ex-husband, David Arquette. The former couple has remained close over the years and is said to have built a strong and amicable co-parenting relationship.
