Will the Rolling Stones ever tour again?

The "Satisfaction" rockers, whose debut album came out over 60 years ago, are still making music. Its new album, Foreign Tongues, is scheduled for release next month and features guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Steve Winwood.

However, the band doesn't look likely to hit the road to support it this year.

And while frontman Mick Jagger would like to tour "as soon as possible," guitarist Keith Richards doesn't seem to share his enthusiasm.

Keith Richards Says He Doesn't Know "If Tours Are Possible"

As reported by Parade, the 82-year-old Richards shared in an interview with bandmates Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood that he doesn't know if tours are possible anymore.

"It's the traveling that takes it out of you," he added. "But I do see the possibility of us doing residency somewhere.

"Wherever it is, London, New York, Paris, anywhere. I'll play Rome! But I don't see why they shouldn't be able to throw some shows together in a new format."

Wood then acknowledged that none of the Rolling Stones are "getting any younger." But Richards still finds performing on stage exciting.

He said, "I mean, what am I gonna do? Jesus Christ. It's necessary for me - at gunpoint, if needs be - to keep a band together. 'You will play drums!' I do my bit, but it's an incredible gift from everybody else. I didn't expect this in return."

There Is Always Next Year for the Rolling Stones

Earlier this month, Richards seemed a little more open to the idea of hitting the road. Just don't expect to see the Rolling Stones in 2026.

"I mean, we can talk next year. Possibly," he said. "At the moment, we're just sort of saying we finished the record, let's do this. And so we're basically considering what to do after, you know, pretty soon. But I don't think... Not this year, anyway."

Richards also became a great-grandfather earlier this month. His granddaughter, Ella, announced on Instagram that she had given birth to a daughter, Luna.
