"NYPD said officers responded around 9:51 p.m. after finding the man unconscious and unresponsive inside the arena," TMZ reports. "We're told by officials the man's wife was on scene and the incident is not being looked at as a crime."
The man was then taken to Bellevue Hospital. Sadly, he was later pronounced dead. Currently, officials haven't provided any information regarding how far the man fell or what led to his fall in the first place. TMZ has reported that the man was "seated in the 300s section" of the arena.
Unfortunately, the tragic incident undoubtedly impacted those in attendance. However, Goose eventually continued their set, completing their 16-song track list once it was deemed ok to do so. Of course, it's hard to envision the vibe being the same as it was before.
"Madison Square Garden has been the subject of tons of headlines lately ... with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce set to host their wedding celebration at MSG in just a few weeks," TMZ noted.
Goose Releases Statement Following Death at Madison Square Garden
Upon completion of their concert, Goose took to social media to release a statement.
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight's show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected," the band wrote, via TMZ. "Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support."
The band was performing on the second night of its two-show run at Madison Square Garden. The incident will undoubtedly stick with them for some time to come. Thankfully, though, no one else in the crowd was reportedly hurt from the man's fall.
Goose will now head to Rumsey Playfield, New York, where they will play a show on Sunday, June 21.
There are no further details regarding the incident. The police will likely be in the process of locating the man's family following his death.
