Sixpence None the Richer Bassist Dies at 50: RIP Justin Cary

Justin Cary, the bassist for Sixpence None the Richer has sadly died at the age of 50. The cause of death was a stroke. The tragic news came in a GoFundMe account update, as well as from the group's lead singer, Leigh Nash. Cary's wife, Linda, also marked his untimely passing on Instagram. She mournfully wrote, "This beautiful soul passed away peacefully this morning with sift music playing and me next to him. What an honor to be his wife and best friend."

Additionally, Leigh Nash sorrowfully noted Justin Cary's death and celebrated his life on Instagram. 'We sure had a great time' is an understatement. Thank you, Justin. We love you forever. Please keep his dear Linda close to your hearts. She is our family. There's never been anybody like Justin."

A Concerning Update Was Issued About Cary's Condition

An update on Wednesday, June 17, said, "Justin is in the ICU and on a respirator. He is receiving amazing care! Linda is right next to his bed reading to him and hopeful he hears her. She is also telling him how much he is loved. Please continue to pray and send healing vibes. We will continue to send updates"

There Was a Grim Announcement Next

In fact, the next update on Thursday, June 18, was the one that Justin Cary's fans and friends must have dreaded. It said, "Justin passed peacefully this morning and Linda was next to him please continue to pray and give strength during this very difficult time."

As of Friday, June 19, the GoFundMe had raised $38,365 of a $40,000 goal.
