KHAN YUNIS, GAZA - DECEMBER 18: A newborn baby receives treatment under extremely limited conditions inside an incubator at Nasser Hospital, as ongoing Israeli policy severely limit access to medicine, infant formula and essential medical equipment, in Khan Yunis, Gaza, on December 18, 2025. With border crossings closed, critical shortages of heating systems, incubators and pediatric intensive care units continue to place newborn and premature infants at serious risk. This illness is severe, leading the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue a recall of the product on Saturday, June 13. It is treating the situation with urgency.

What Baby Formula Is Affected by the Recall?

Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula has been linked to three toxin type A infections of infant botulism. The diagnosed infants live in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

The illness is caused when bacterial spores grow in an infant's intestinal tract. Symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelids, and weak crying. It can take weeks for symptoms to develop. These initial signs can then lead to difficulty breathing and respiratory arrest.

"Customers should stop using the affected products immediately," the FDA said in a statement. "If your baby has consumed this product and is presenting symptoms of infant botulism... please contact your healthcare provider for immediate care."

Officials have since begun testing leftover formula samples from affected households. Parents who have used the formula should monitor their children closely. If any symptoms are present, they should seek emergency care rather than wait for a diagnosis.

How Do I Know if I Have a Product Affected by the Recall?

The affected Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula was sold at Target, Target.com, and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026. The brand accounts for less than 1 percent of the nation's formula market.

The affected products include:

  • Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 700g, with UPC: 860013251901
  • Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 400g, with UPC: 860013251918

Additionally, all lots for sale are included in the voluntary recall. Look for these codes on the bottom of the affected cans:
