The confrontation allegedly became physical, with Cooper being accused of throwing Feigen to the ground, punching a wall next to her, and physically handling her. However, it's what happened next that will leave people stunned.
According to Feigen, Cooper threatened to break her phone if she didn't leave. He then proceeded to put the phone in his mouth and try to eat it. Of course, that decision caused damage to the phone.
"Fiegen told police she was "unable to get up" at one point. She also said Cooper threatened to break her phone if she did not leave and then put the device in his mouth and ate it, causing damage," BSO reports. "She noted the phone contained irreplaceable messages and voice notes from her late mother, which Cooper was aware of."
Jonathon Cooper Faces New Charges Following Latest Arrest
Following his arrest, Cooper will now face additional charges.
"Cooper received four new charges Thursday night - two on domestic violence, one for harassment base on repeated phone calls and a fourth for violation of a protection order he received when he was initially arrested last Thursday, June 4. He was arrested at 10:07 p.m," 9News reports. "Thursday night."
Both the Broncos and the NFL have confirmed they're aware of the charges against Cooper. He will likely face disciplinary procedures from both the team and the league. As such, he could be staring down a lengthy ban and a sizeable fine. According to 9News, Cooper is expected to earn $12 million next season.
Of course, any suspension and fines would reduce that amount.
According to 9News, the attending officer, Victoria Rodriguez, has since written up her report regarding the situation she found when attending the scene.
"I observed a small mark on (the girlfriend's) neck, where she claimed (Cooper) grabbed her. I also observed scratches on (the girlfriend's) arm and a small cut on her hand," Rodriguez wrote. "These markings did not appear consistent with a larger male lifting (the girlfriend) up into the air by her throat as well as repeatedly being thrown to the ground."
However, Rodriguez did note that not all of Feigen's claim matched the marks on her body.
"The small mark on (the girlfriend's) neck to did not appear to be consistent with the claim that (the girlfriend) had been held up in the air by her throat by another individual."
Currently, there are no further details regarding Cooper's arrest, or what he can expect to come from the incident. More details will likely follow.
