James Handy was recently murdered, allegedly at the hands of his long-time girlfriend's son. The incident made global news, leading to an outpouring of love for the actor.

Now, following further investigation, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's report has been revealed via TMZ. According to the report, Handy died due to "a stab wound to the torso, with neck compression being an added factor."
Handy was attacked on June 3. Michael Gledhill, 44, is the alleged attacker, with the actor being stabbed to death outside his home in Tarzana, California. He was 81 years old.
According to audio obtained by PEOPLE, Gledhill reportedly told 911 dispatch, "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin." Gledhill reportedly called 911 himself following the murder of Handy.
"The suspect flagged down nearby responding officers, telling them he was the one they were looking for," a statement from the LAPD said. "The suspect resides at the location with his mother, who is the victim's girlfriend. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there appears to be no danger to the public at this time."
Following his arrest, Gledhill's bail was set at $2 million. He was charged with one count of murder upon arriving at Van Nuys Jail.
