Knicks Fans Go Berserk After Jaw-Dropping Game 4 Win, Spurs Star "Wemby" Allegedly Gets Egged

It was truly a come-from-behind win for the ages. The New York Knicks clawed their way back from a gaping 29-point deficit in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, June 10. They overtook the San Antonio Spurs by a nail-biting score of 107-106. The Big Apple squad is now on the verge of seizing their first championship since 1973. Now they are ahead three games to one in the series. That means the Knicks just need one more win on Saturday night to claim the trophy. It's been a fifty-three year wait for the faithful.

Fans are understandably in a frenzy. It's not just because their team is winning. It's how they are getting the job done. These guys just will not quit until they triumph. Even having stars like Taylor Swift in the house could not compare with the high drama taking place on the court. However, some NY Knicks followers reportedly got a little too rambunctious after the game. Among other disturbing incidents, Spurs fan-favorite Victor 'Wemby" Wembanyama allegedly was egged by someone outside the team's hotel as shown in a video.

The Post-Game Celebrating Got Out of Hand

According to USA Today, "Another wave of arrests" took place following the electrifying contest on Wednesday. Citing the NYPD, in "multiple locations," there were "56 people were taken into custody, 15 were arrested, and 41 were released with criminal court summonses." Their infractions included criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and assaulting a police officer.

Additionally, a fan wearing a Spurs jersey was allegedly attacked after Game 3. Per the outlet, the NYPD was searching for five men involved in that incident. In fact, they reportedly punched and kicked the person and took off their Spurs jersey.

The Alleged Misbehavior Drew Criticism

ESPN's Mike Greenberg sharply scolded fans who can't contain themselves and act with civility and restraint. On Get Up, he heatedly declared this. "For those, I don't want to call them fans, I don't even know what you want to say. If you're throwing eggs at Victor Wembanyama, and the other night, if you're beating up people, threatening or doing anything to people who are wearing Spurs jerseys, just know that you are a disgrace."

Actor Ben Stiller joined the chorus of criticism as well. He wrote on X, "Being a Knick fan doesn't mean being disrespectful to Spurs fans in any way...we get caught up during the games but we gotta show respect to our fellow humans..."
