Couple Horribly Burned After Taco Truck Explodes

A taco truck explosion left a husband and wife with severe burns, but both survived and are now undergoing multiple surgeries in Nashville.

A taco truck explosion has left two people hospitalized with severe burns as they begin what is expected to be a lengthy recovery.

Tim and Tiffany were airlifted to a hospital in Nashville following the incident and are receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The explosion destroyed the food truck and left both victims with severe second- and third-degree burns.

Taco Truck Explodes, Leaving Couple Seriously Injured

Jada Pastrana, the daughter of Tim and Tiffany, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover her parents' mounting medical bills and other expenses.

According to Pastrana, the explosion occurred on June 4, and the cause remains under investigation.

She described her parents' survival as nothing short of remarkable.

"It is truly a miracle and blessing they're both alive," she wrote.

"They're both alert, breathing, and talking," the description reads. "Both of them are going into surgery tomorrow. They will more than likely be in the hospital for a few months."

"Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I will continue to update as time goes on."

The fundraiser has since raised nearly all of its $24,000 goal, with regular updates being shared on the couple's condition.

Couple Begin Recovery After Devastating Explosion

An update posted on June 6 revealed that Tim and Tiffany spent their 25th wedding anniversary in hospital.

According to the post, Tiffany successfully underwent surgery, while Tim was still awaiting his first procedure, with "many more surgeries to come."

Two days later, Tiffany shared an update herself, offering a firsthand account of the explosion.

"Tim and I are survivors and we are in the process of surviving," she wrote. "From the force of the explosion I was blown back against the far wall where our sinks are and I was trapped."

Tiffany revealed that her husband initially escaped the burning truck but returned to rescue her, pulling her to safety.

She said both had undergone their first surgeries and expressed gratitude to those who helped save their lives.

"A huge shout out to the Huntingdon EMS,Firefighters, Police officers, customers and every single person who helped us to survive this ordeal," Tiffany added.

"We've chosen to wait to activate new cell phones until we heal and progress with our recovery.With the help of God all of you guys and these fantastic nurses doctors and surgeons we are gonna be okay."

On June 10, Jada shared another update, posting a photo of her parents standing. They were participating in "physical therapy and stretching wounds."

"More grafting to come," Jada wrote.
