Hot Air Balloon Crash Caught on Camera
The balloon flight reportedly began in Napa Valley, departing from Yountville before unexpectedly ending in Solano County.
Witnesses described seeing the balloon collide with a tree before making what they called a "controlled crash landing."
After striking the tree, the balloon continued moving through the air briefly. It eventually came to rest in an open area of the country club property.
Several videos of the incident have circulated online, including footage recorded by the couple from inside the basket as they braced for impact.
The passengers, who asked to remain anonymous, later spoke with KCRA 3 about the ordeal.
"It was no, 'Hey, we're about to hit a tree. You get down.' It was just that we slammed into it," one of them said.
According to the couple, the basket tilted sharply after the collision. It left them worried that they could be thrown from the balloon.
Following the landing, firefighters responded to the scene and gathered information from those involved.
